Johnnie 'D'

John Sperry has been pounding on the skins since he was 10 years old. Having grown up in a home that promoted artistic expression, John was raised on the sounds of the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

John spent his adolescent years playing in various school related and independent musical groups.

Having developed proficiency in many styles John has played with the likes of indy bands Cerny and Bitner. In 2004, John hooked up with Manny to form the Hi Fi Ramblers.

Influences include drummers such as Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Carter Beauford, Larry Mullen Jr., Liberty DeVito, and Sonny Emory.

Manny

Manny is a native of Los Angeles, CA. He picked up a guitar at an early age and hasn't put it down since. Manny was a student of Jazz and classical guitar and studied under a playfully abusive Russian Immigrant named Igor Gregoriev.

Before leaving L.A., Manny played in numerous Rockabilly bands including Rene Dalva and the Lonesome Trio, and the Western Swing/ Rockabilly band The Western Wreckers -- which once had the pleasure of opening up for Junior Brown. As for his own musical projects, Manny even fronted the long lasting Jump Blues/Swing band Crosstown 7. Others with whom Manny has had the honor of sitting in include well-known musicians Dawn Shapely and Big Sandy.

After 1 year in Oregon Manny started his search for musicians that shared the same admiration for Rockabilly, Surf and 50's Rock & Roll. That's when he and drummer John Sperry started the Hi Fi Ramblers.
